This tattoo is a memorial piece for my clients grandmother. Her memories are of her and her love of gardening, roses being one of the things she loved the most. The mantis was just handing around do what they do, being beneficial. This tattoo was so much fun and a real challenge. Roses are a lot of work to make look right, so many layers and subtle color changes. The end result is well worth all the hard work. This tattoo was quite large, it took up her whole right shoulder.
